Orofino Correctional Program Coordinator/Instructor

Lewis-Clark State College


LC State invites applications for the position of Orofino Correctional Program Coordinator/Instructor.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $56,000 - $58,000


Responsibilities:
The Correctional Program Coordinator/ Instructor reports to the Director of Adult Learning & Corrections Education. This position supports LC State's programming at the Idaho Corrections Institution - Orofino (ICIO) facility and will require on-site teaching, advising, and support.

This position will:

  • Be trained to become a correctional institution's volunteer.'
  • Interface with the correctional department and LC State staff to coordinate course offerings and instruction.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between LC State and the local correctional facilities, including marketing LC State's programs to residents and correctional institution staff.
  • Work with faculty to ensure required training is completed and courses are conducted as scheduled.
  • Ensure textbooks and other instructional materials and resources are available to the students in these facilities.
  • Instruct classes at correctional institutions.
  • Properly advise students for degree completion.



This position will consist of half-time instruction and half-time coordination of the program / other duties as assigned. In addition to instructional duties at the correctional institution, this position may expect to spend most work days at the facility in Orofino.

Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Degree Required: Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in general education or content area for one of LC State's degree offerings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience in education administration or instruction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to teach in multiple modalities


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution
  • Experience working with incarcerated individuals
  • Familiarity with financial aid and college admissions
