CAPS Counselor

Job Summary:

The Rollins College Wellness Center is seeking part-time temporary counselors to join our dynamic and student-centered Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team for the 2026-2027 academic year. CAPS is part of an integrated Wellness Center that includes Counseling and Psychological Services, Student Health Services, and Health Promotions, all working collaboratively to support student well-being. Reporting to the Director of CAPS, these counselors will provide culturally competent clinical services, consultation, and outreach consistent with the mission of the Wellness Center.

• Provide direct clinical services including crisis management, individual therapy, and group work.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation.
• Participate in outreach and wellness promotion activities, including workshops and educational programming.
• Collaborate with Wellness Center colleagues and campus partners to support student well-being.
• Represent the Wellness Center professionally at campus and community events.
• Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with state and professional guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

• Master's or doctoral degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or related field.
• Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Florida.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health.
• Previous or current work experience with college-aged students.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse staff, faculty, and student population.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Anticipated Employment Dates: August 1, 2026 - May 31, 2027

Schedule: CAPS Counselors will work approximately 20-25 hours per week, for a total of less than 1,000 hours per year. Scheduled hours per week will depend on operational needs. Availability and readiness to work during non-office hours (including nights, early mornings, and weekends) may be required as needed.

Compensation: The hourly rate is $25.00 and there are no benefits associated with this appointment.

Working Environment:

• Front-facing customer service role on-campus. Office/community field environment work (e.g., residential halls).
• Work requires visual strain, use of computer.
