Boise Correctional Education Coordinator/Instructor

LC State invites applications for the position of Boise Correctional Education Coordinator/Instructor.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $57,000


Responsibilities:

The Correctional Program Coordinator/Instructor works with a team under the Adult Learning Programs Office at LC State. The successful applicant will be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal communication skills. They will support adult learning initiatives while primarily focusing on correctional education programs at Boise-area facilities. This position will:
Interface with the correctional department and LC State staff to ensure institutional residents are advised on financial aid application, admission, and enrollment procedures.
Serve as the primary liaison between LC State and the local correctional facility, to include marketing LC State's programs to residents and correctional institution education managers.
Work with faculty to ensure courses are conducted as scheduled and that residents are properly advised.
Ensure textbooks and other instructional materials and resources are available to the students in these facilities.
Instruct classes at correctional institutions in a variety of modalities/formats.

This position will be ½ time instruction and ½ time corrections education facilitation, as well as support for adult learning initiatives. In addition to instructional duties at the correctional institution, this position may expect to spend 1 to 2 days per week in program coordination at the facility. Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.

Preferred and Required Qualifications


Degree Required: Master's degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university

Required Qualifications:

1. Experience in education administration and/or instruction
2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
3. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
4. Ability to teach general education and/or program-related courses

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution
2. Experience working with incarcerated individuals
3. Familiarity with financial aid and college admissions
4. Experience teaching online or hybrid modalities
