Salary Range: Up to $70,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary

The Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring that all public-facing digital content accurately represents the university, supports enrollment growth, and performs well across search engines, AI tools, and marketing channels. The Marketing Manager plans, manages and executes digital content work. This includes deciding what content is needed, how content is performing in search and AI environments, and how it contributes to marketing and enrollment goals. The role combines hands-on writing and editing with ongoing optimization, performance analysis, and cross-team collaboration. The Marketing Manager will work with many teams across campus to align priorities, improve quality, and establish shared practices that keep content effective over time.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Owns the quality and accuracy of public-facing digital content across the university's website and related platforms to support student trust, discovery, and enrollment goals.

  2. Defines content priorities by determining what content is needed, where it should live, and how it should be structured to support student understanding, decision-making, and conversion.

  3. Writes, rewrites, and edits high-impact content (e.g. program pages, landing pages, FAQs, and core recruitment content) to improve clarity, persuasion, and performance across digital channels.

  4. Manages AI agent platforms that rely on digital content on our websites and ensure content accuracy, appropriate configuration, responsible use, and alignment with marketing and enrollment objectives.

  5. Uses AI tools as part of the content workflow to support content creation, drafting, improvement, and review, including identifying gaps, comparing content across pages or domains, and detecting inconsistencies.

  6. Optimizes website content so search engines, answer engines, and AI systems/agents can effectively interpret, extract, and surface accurate information in response to user questions.

  7. Monitors how the university is represented in search results, AI-generated responses, and third-party platforms (such as Wikipedia, review sites, and public forums). Identify gaps or inaccuracies and recommend improvements to strengthen discoverability and brand perception.

  8. Defines and monitors meaningful success metrics related to search visibility, AI-driven discovery, engagement, and conversion. Review performance data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities, and translate findings into clear recommendations and action plans.

  9. Partners with marketing, communications, web teams, and departmental content owners to align on priorities, implement agreed-upon changes, and establish shared content standards and workflows that support long-term quality and consistency.

  10. Provides regular updates to leadership on content performance, risks, and improvement efforts, and surface data-informed recommendations that advance marketing and enrollment priorities.

  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

  • Three (3) years of related work experience.

  • This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events. Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary. If walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

This position will work both on campus and remotely in Texas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.

This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
