Job Summary The Outreach & Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the external visibility, community relationships, and strategic communications of the College of Arts & Sciences (COAS). This position is responsible for planning and coordinating college-wide events, including community outreach forums and networking events for students, alumni, and executive stakeholders. The Coordinator supports the COAS Leadership Board and collaborates with campus and community partners to strengthen employer relations and career-focused initiatives.
The position also leads marketing and communications efforts for the College, including social media management, content creation, website maintenance, newsletter production, and advertising. The Coordinator provides day-to-day guidance to student workers and interns, supports internship development, and assists with recruitment marketing. Occasional in-state travel is required to support events and outreach initiatives.
Responsibilities Marketing & Communications - 35%- Coordinate and maintain the college's social media presence across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, GCSU Front Page), posting regularly and engaging with internal and external constituencies.
- Assist with maintaining and updating the COAS website and promotional materials to ensure content accuracy and alignment with institutional branding.
- Design, proof, and finalize advertisements for marketing campaigns, ensuring consistency with college and university brand standards.
- Develop relationships within the college to gather information and identify newsworthy stories, achievements, and events for promotion.
- Collaborate with University Communications to implement the college's communications strategy.
- Plan, write, and distribute the college newsletter on a regular and timely basis.
Leadership Board & Stakeholder Engagement - 10%- Provide support to the Dean in managing relationships with various stakeholders, including members of the COAS Leadership Board.
- Coordinate Leadership Board meeting logistics, ensure attendance, and facilitate meaningful student involvement in outreach activities.
- Assist the Dean and COAS Senior Development Officer in engaging board members to secure external support for college priorities.
- Cultivate ongoing engagement with board members and community partners through professional relationship-building and strategic outreach.
- Identify opportunities for community collaboration and help develop initiatives that advance the College's external relationships.
Event Planning & Coordination - 35%- Plan and coordinate college-wide events, including community outreach forums, networking events, and programs for students, alumni, and executive stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Dean and University Advancement to support events aligned with college and institutional priorities.
- Coordinate all event logistics following Dean review, including venue selection, catering, advertising, budget management, and vendor communication.
- Provide general support for events hosted by the Dean's office, including guest greetings, setup, and communication with external constituencies.
- Ensure all events align with the College's strategic goals and deliver a professional, welcoming experience for all attendees.
Other Duties - 5%- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Dean's office and overall College operations.
- Represent the Dean's office at campus events, divisional meetings, and cross-departmental initiatives as needed.
Recruitment Support & Metrics - 5%- Compile and report engagement and marketing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and outreach initiatives.
- Plan and coordinate the ordering of promotional items in support of college events and recruitment efforts.
- Provide marketing and communications support to departments and programs engaged in student recruitment activities.
Student & Intern Support - 10%- Provide day-to-day task guidance and direction to student workers and interns assisting with communications and event planning.
- Route internship requests from external stakeholders to the appropriate departmental contacts and facilitate the development of new internship opportunities in the community.
- Communicate with academic departments regarding internship requests and help support the expansion of experiential learning partnerships.
- Assist departments and programs in the design and development of recruitment marketing materials, including banners, flyers, and digital assets.

Proposed Salary This position is a pay grade 7. The available salary range is $40,729.00 to $59,068.00. Starting salary within this range is based on relevant years of experience.
