Assistant Professor in Applied Behavior Analysis

Job Purpose
Teach courses, perform research, and fulfill the mission of the Department of Curriculum & Instruction.

Essential Functions
Teaching in the graduate ABA program; provide direct supervision to students completing their ABA Field Experience/Practicum; teach courses in ABA and related areas; conduct scholarly work related to ABA; establishing and maintaining a record of scholarly productivity as demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, acquisition of external funding, and presentations at state, regional and national conferences; providing service at the University, professional and community levels; developing and maintaining partnerships with area ABA and public programs for student field experiences; chairing and/or serving on graduate MA and PhD committees and mentoring graduate students; and engaging in program development with faculty. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of how their education and experiences have prepared them to successfully execute all of the duties of the position.


Work Hours:

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2026.

Benefits Information
Benefits include the accumulation of one (1) sick leave day per month and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits. Deferred income and benefits over 12 months.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in a related educational discipline. ABD candidates considered if their doctorate is completed before position start date of August 1, 2026. BCBA certified. Minimum 3 years experience in the ABA field. Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with faculty, colleagues and administrators. Ability to integrate technology into instruction and documented evidence of online course content delivery. Ability to advise students, serve on and chair graduate level committees, and serve on doctoral level committees. Commitment to and potential for developing proposals for external funding. Demonstrated potential for scholarly publications/research endeavors.

Preferred Qualifications
Five years' experience in the ABA field; Adjunct or full-time higher education teaching experience.
