Biology and Mathematics Department - Adjunct

Summary:

The Department of Biology and Mathematics at D’Youville University is seeking qualified candidates to join a pool of adjunct instructors for potential teaching opportunities in lectures and labs, including microbiology and anatomy and physiology. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and committed to fostering student success. The department offers a Biology B.S. degree, a Biology B.A., and a Biochemistry B.S. degree, and is accepting applications for positions to be filled as needed.

 Responsibilities: 

• Deliver courses in alignment with established learning outcomes.
• Develop and implement assignments and learning activities that effectively measure student learning.
• Create an inclusive and collaborative classroom environment.
• Provide regular progress updates and final grades for students.
• Maintain accessibility and timely communication with students through various channels, including in-person office hours, videoconferencing, and telephone.

Requirements:

• A Master’s degree or higher in biology or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Previous teaching experience in higher education is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in utilizing various software programs, including the institution’s Learning Management System (Canvas), for online course delivery.
