Join the AHA-Allen Brain Health and Cognitive Impairment Initiative at the Salk Institute
Nine laboratories at the Salk Institute have joined forces to understand how aging contributes to Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other age-associated neurodegenerative conditions. This highly interactive team is seeking talented postdoctoral fellows who can work across disciplines (and potentially in multiple labs) to tackle this important problem.
Our group is highly resourced and committed to translating what we know about the hallmarks of aging into a new understanding of AD, with the goal of developing novel biomarkers and potential therapeutics. The team has expertise in multiple cell biological systems dysregulated in aging (e.g., inflammation, mitochondria, metabolism, DNA damage/repair, and epigenetics) and is exploring how they interact and contribute to AD and why aging is its biggest risk factor.
