Job Description
The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of Ghent University has a vacancy for a full-time Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in the discipline of Product-System Design for Industry 5.0 (Department of Electronics and Information Systems) (Req ID 30256), starting from February 1, 2026 (with application deadline on October 12, 2026).
Preferred and Required Qualifications
Profile and selection criteria:
- candidates should hold a PhD or a degree recognized as equivalent;
- candidates are required to have at least two years of postdoctoral experience on the starting date;
- candidates are required to have a strong academic CV with international visibility in the field of study concerned, proved by recent publications in national and international peer reviewed journals and/or books;
- candidates are required to be able to initiate and supervise educational and research projects and to acquire the necessary funding for this;
- candidates are required to possess the necessary didactic skills to teach university students to develop academic competences;
- having experience in international mobility is recommended;
- candidates show leadership potential or have leadership experience;
- candidates are prepared to meet the language requirements.
