About the role

We have an opportunity for a dedicated and motivated research-active academic to contribute to the supervision, teaching and administration of the PhD programme in Supply Chain Management. This role is based in Weihai, China where students are taught in English and complete their University of Waikato degree.

Who are you?

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline, be able to demonstrate experience in teaching to large and small groups of students for whom English is not their first language and have an established publication record. An understanding of China and its culture would be an advantage.

Senior Lecturer candidates are expected to demonstrate an internationally recognised research profile, including quality publications, supervision experience, and the ability to attract research funding.

Associate Professor candidates are expected to demonstrate sustained excellence in Supply Chain Management research, teaching and PhD supervision, provide academic leadership and mentoring, and contribute to programme development and research funding activities.

Professor candidates are expected to be established scholars with an international research profile who provide outstanding academic leadership, mentor academic staff, contribute to academic policy and programme development, and enhance the University's reputation through research, doctoral supervision and external engagement.

We are proud of our joint programme with Shandong University which builds on the expertise of both institutions. Currently the joint programme of study offers the Waikato Management School's Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in China in Economics, Supply Chain Management and Tourism Management.
