Position Summary:

The University of Idaho Department of Design and Environments is seeking applications for one or multiple part-time lecturers in Interior Architecture and Design (IAD). Qualified applicants interested in teaching 2-7 credits in the fall and/or spring semester in one or more of the following course offerings should apply.

Fall 2026:

· IAD 2310 Design Communication I (hand and hybrid sketching, rendering) – 2 credits
· IAD 2810 History of Interiors I – 3 credits
· IAD 3510 or IAD 4510 Interior Architecture and Design studio – 3 to 6 credits
· IAD 3680 Materials for Health and Sustainability – 3 credits
· IAD 4100 Capstone Proposal Development – 2 credits

Spring 2027:

· IAD 2440 Design Communication II (digital portfolio design, 3D modeling) – 2 credits
· IAD 2820 History of Interiors II – 3 credits
· IAD 1520 Interior Architecture and Design I – 3 credits
· IAD 3520 or IAD 4520 Interior Architecture and Design studio – 3 to 6 credits
· IAD 4000 IAD Seminar – 3 credits
· IAD 4430 Universal Design – 3 credits

Minimum Education/Degree Required:

Master’s degree or other terminal degree in interior design, interior architecture, or closely related field, or significant professional design practice experience.


Required Qualifications:

Experience teaching in university setting and/or design practice experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCIDQ Certification.
  • LEED, WELL, CHID, CKBA, and/or other discipline appropriate professional credentials.
  • 3 or more years of teaching and/or design practice experience.
  • Evidence of teaching and design practice excellence.
