Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $18.00 Hourly
Maximum $21.63 Hourly

Job Summary
Responsible for greeting clients and other for the College of Veterinary Medicine; schedule patients and confirm patient appointments; process patient payments and receipts. Support the veterinarians, veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants in ensuring quality veterinary care for all pets, advocates for pets, educate clients on all aspects of pet health, and ensure a safe and effective hospital environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Good computer skills necessary in order to set up document formats in Word, Excel, and any other software program required by this position. Familiarity with the Internet is helpful.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills. Veterinary medical terminology is helpful.
  • Skill with fax, copy machine, printer, telephone operation, and the ability to type at 40 words per minute.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Applicant must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English and Spanish language.
  • Applicant must have excellent interpersonal skill necessary to interact well with patients, staff, students, physicians, and the public; be culturally sensitive.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.

Required Qualifications
Education: 

  • Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Graduate Equivalency Diploma or High School Diploma required.


Experience: 

  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar or related position.

Other: 

  • Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography (x-ray) and exposure to radioactive substances.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience: 

  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience in a clinical medical setting is helpful.
