Summary:The Center for Leadership & Community Engagement (CLCE) at Rollins College is seeking a part-time Program Assistant! The Service & Leadership Initiatives Program Assistant will be immersed in hands-on experiences that focus on both academic and student affairs, as it relates to Community Engagement & Leadership Development.
The Service & Leadership Initiatives Program Assistant creates intentional intersections between community engagement & leadership development initiatives with the goal of engaging students in high-impact co-curricular experiences. The Program Assistant will leverage the skills and competencies necessary to contribute to the following:
- Serve as the Co-supervisor for the Service & Leadership Student Coordinators
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate 4 Service & Leadership Student Coordinators.
- Advise and support in the development of weekly indirect service opportunities (5-Minute Differences) including community outreach, scheduling, purchasing, event set up & break down, etc.
- Advise and support in the development of monthly direct service opportunities (Days of Service) including community outreach, scheduling, purchasing, event facilitation, etc.
- Advise and support in the development of leadership development workshops & facilitations including drafting presentations, building worksheets, scheduling, purchasing, etc.
- Connect with nonprofit & community partners to identify needs and capacity while building strong relationships as an ambassador of Rollins College to the local community.
- Develop digital marketing materials to communicate service & leadership opportunities.
- Serve as a lead facilitator for the Anchor Down Leadership Retreat, an off-campus student leadership development retreat.
- Lead up to two off-campus, weekend Anchor Down Leadership Retreat(s) including all Pre & Post Trip Meetings.
- Assist in developing a weekend leadership curriculum, recruiting participants, acquiring signed waivers, securing lodging, transportation, meals, supplies, etc.
- Plan and implement the Rita Bornstein Student Leadership Speaker Series
- Collaborate with key campus partners to bring in a diverse set of guest speakers that connects with the student population in innovative and exciting ways.
- Track all required budget reporting and post-event reflections.
- Support the Immersion: Citizens Take Action Program
- Support the supervision of 6 Immersion Planning Team Members.
- Assist in planning weekend and week-long alternative spring break service-learning programs including securing community partnerships, managing logistics, and providing educational materials.
- Support the recruitment and training of Immersion Facilitators including outreach, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Attend and lead Immersion experiences (at least one per academic year)
- Co-Lead the Rollins Relief Program
- Remain up to date on current events/natural disasters impacting our local communities and beyond.
- Craft campus-wide emails to inform the Rollins Community of current events and resources to serve including a thanksgiving and winter holiday edition.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of CLCE larger campus events and initiatives including, but not limited to:
- Join the Crew - Student Employee Hiring (Administration)
- Thaddeus & Polly Seymour Acts of Kindness Day (Co-Lead)
- Community Partner Fair & Changemaker Day (Co-lead)
- SDG SPARC Quest (Administration)
- Student Philanthropy Week (Administration)
- Volunteer Appreciation Week (Lead)
- Community Common Hour (Co-lead)
- Leadershape: Catalyst (Co-lead)
- Assist in the facilitation of CLCE-Led leadership development trainings, workshops, and initiatives for student, staff, and faculty via the Cloverleaf coaching platform (Ex. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Enneagram, StrengthsQuest, True Colors, LeaderShape, Project Adventure, etc.)
- Assess learning outcomes and program quality using multiple assessment tools.
- Find one (1) professional development opportunity to attend (before April 2027).
- General Office Expectations:
- Trained and approved driving a 15 Passenger Mini-Bus and a 8-passenger Minivan.\
- Represent CLCE at campus events i.e. first-year orientation, experience Rollins, etc.
- Track participant(s) for all events, initiatives, etc. in the CLCE Dashboard. Assess CLCE programming and complete grant reports.
- Attend all CLCE Team meetings and retreats (including student retreats).
- Attend Division, Engagement Team, and CLCE Team Trainings and Retreats.
- Attend "All Hands-on Deck" campus-wide events (may fall on evenings/weekends)
- Effectively utilize Office 365, Adobe Creative programs, Teams, Canva, MyRollins, etc.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support office programming and initiatives
Minimum Qualifications: - Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Position Information:Employment Dates: August 2026 - May 31, 2027 (start and end dates flexible)
Work Schedule: The Program Assistant is scheduled to work approximately 30 hours per week (five of these hours will be spent meeting with student organizations) and for a total of or fewer than 1,000 hours per year. The schedule will depend on availability and department needs with the ability to work flexible hours. Evening/Weekend hours will be required and communicated with advanced notice.
Pay Rate: The hourly rate is $16.00 and there are no benefits associated with this position.
Work Environment:
- Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in fast-paced and high-energy work environment.
- Work may require some visual strain.
