DESCRIPTION
Otterbein University is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of Philanthropy to drive fundraising success and advance the University's mission through impactful philanthropic engagement. This position is responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies that engage alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders.
In close collaboration with the Executive Director of Philanthropy & Planned Giving and the Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement, the Senior Director provides input into the institution's overall fundraising strategy while leading efforts to secure transformational gifts aligned with institutional priorities. This role plays a critical leadership function in building a culture of philanthropy and strengthening the University's development programs.
This is a full-time, exempt position working 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide mentorship and leadership to assigned professional and administrative staff across functional areas. May supervise the Philanthropic Associate in partnership with the Executive Director. Responsibilities include setting clear goals, implementing best practices, and fostering accountability and staff development.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires frequent sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, and repetitive hand movements. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, and bending are required. The position requires regular and predictable attendance and the ability to travel both in-state and out-of-state using various modes of transportation, including commercial airlines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in an environmentally controlled office setting. Occasional travel, as well as evening and weekend work, is expected.
