Job Summary:
Clinical Instructors report to the School of Nursing (SON) Director. As special faculty, clinical instructors are responsible for teaching in clinical, laboratory, and simulated learning environments. Clinical Instructors collaborate with semester-level faculty to ensure that direct care assignments and focused clinical learning activities enable achievement of the integrated practicum learning outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Provide clinical instruction in approved health care settings and the nursing simulation laboratory
Education and other faculty as needed to design remediation plans
Benefits: Faculty eligibility rules are complex and depend on the nature of your appointment. Faculty with a semester-to-semester appointment who are in an EWU paid appointment of at least 50 percent or more are eligible for PEBB insurance on the first day of the month following the start of their second consecutive academic term. See WAC 182-12-114 section (3)(a)(ii) for more details.

Responsibility / Duty: Teaching workload for individuals appointed to a clinical instructor position will be specified in their individual letter of appointment.
Teaching includes the following additional related responsibilities as defined in the faculty CBA:
Additionally, all faculty are expected to engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.

Appointment is as specified in the letter of appointment. Appointment as an clinical instructor member does not confer any right to subsequent appointment for additional semesters.
To be considered eligible for appointment into the position, applicants must be available and able to start in the position no later than the date specified in the letter of appointment.
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
All new employees must comply with EWU immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU. Waivers for the immunization requirements are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.

Salary Information: Semester Clinical Instructors will be compensated at the rate of at One Thousand Eight Hundred ($1800) per credit.
