Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $23.63 Hourly
Maximum $23.63 Hourly

Job Summary

The Clinical Skills and Simulation Technician provides dedicated technical and operational support for the Office of Healthcare Simulation’s Clinical Skills Lab and the Sarkaria Family Patient Simulation Suite. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting simulation equipment, software, and learning facilities. Operational duties include coordinating maintenance, managing software and hardware updates, supporting lab utilization, and maintaining inventory.

Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Knowledge:

  • Experience providing technical support in computer hardware and/or software, and experience managing and configuring mobile devices such as tablets and laptops.

 


Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with and work effectively with other faculty, staff, students, and vendors in a positive, helpful, and cooperative working relationship.

Abilities:
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and assignments, and complete tasks and duties autonomously.
  • Respect for and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.


Required Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

 


Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years work experience in information technology, sim lab or related technology field. Proficiency with PC and relevant software applications (Word, Excel, Canva, Power Point, etc.).


Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • BA or BS degree highly preferred in Computers, Media, Simulation, Education or any health discipline.

 


Experience:

  • Proficiency or experience with simulation technology/education, such as Elevate LearningSpace, Gaumard UNI preferred. Experience with TDX system and audio/visual production equipment a plus.
