Job Summary:Eastern Washington University’s College of Professional Programs – School of Psychology invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Psychology to support the NASP accredited EdS School Psychology Program as well as other School needs, to begin September 16, 2026. This position requires candidates to be located in or willing to relocate to the greater Spokane-Cheney area.
In keeping with the high standards established by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the School of Psychology is committed to the selection, training, supervision, and professional success of students in the Ed.S. School Psychology Program. The program adheres to a scientist-practitioner model and offers a structured sequence of curricular and field experiences with an emphasis on closely supervised training experiences across multi-tiered systems within schools. Program faculty members establish strong relationships with one another and with site supervisors to support students to engage in meaningful field-based experiences.
The School of Psychology offers the Ed.S. School Psychology Program through two-year and three-year tracks that meet the needs of learners across a continuum of needs, from those with less experience to those entering the program with advanced experience and degrees. The program utilizes synchronous and asynchronous delivery of online courses and yearly onsite training requirements on the Cheney campus.
The current position includes primary responsibilities for teaching online and hybrid for the School Psychology programs, with additional support of undergraduate majors and other School of Psychology needs. The position also includes responsibilities for field supervision, service, and scholarship. Opportunities for summer teaching, although not required, may be available.

Job Duties:The current position includes primary responsibilities for teaching online and hybrid for the School Psychology programs, with additional support of undergraduate majors and other School of Psychology needs. 1. Effectively teaching 36 credits per academic year, subject to School needs, including courses on the campus in Cheney, WA. Courses will be determined in consultation with the Chair and include teaching courses in the NASP accredited EdS program such as Psychoeducational Group Theory and Process; School Psychology Consultation; Intro to Social-Emotional Learning for Educational Equity; Family, School, and Community Collaboration; Practicum; and Internship, and/or other courses that fulfill the needs of the School and Program.2. Following additional responsibilities as defined in the faculty CBA:
- Meet all scheduled classes: Plan, develop, organize, and inform students of course content, texts, readings, assignments, attendance expectations and methods of evaluation including grading scales
- Schedule and attend regular office hours
- Write letters of recommendations for students
- Engage in effective student advising
- Assess learning outcomes
- Turn in grades according to established deadlines
3. Collecting, retaining, and disseminating course and program data for accrediting bodies and to maintain professional standards.
4. Collaborating with colleagues in utilization of creativity and best practice knowledge in curriculum development, classroom instruction, and student supervision.
5. Supervising students engaged in applied experiences such as research, practicum, portfolio, and internship.
6. Attending and participating in EdS School Psychology meetings; School of Psychology meetings; School, College, and University meetings and retreats; and graduation ceremonies, and program specific collaboration teams meetings as well as collaborating with colleagues to fulfill the missions of the School of Psychology.
7. Advising undergraduate and graduate students who are declared majors on program requirements, and University requirements and career opportunities.
8. Contributing to program, college, and university committees and workgroups and support NASP approval activities.
9. Participating in the leadership of local (e.g., PEAB), state (e.g., WSASP), and regional professional organizations.
10. Pursuing productive research, scholarship and/or creative activities, including professional activities leading to publication, performance, and/or formal presentation in the field.
11. Pursuing research funding through grant development
