The College of Education and Human Development at Augusta University seeks a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Department of Research, Counseling, and Curriculum. The selected faculty member will teach and advise graduate students in the MEd in Counselor Education Program which offers concentrations in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The selected faculty will have demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and scholarly activity at the university level. Teaching effectiveness can be demonstrated through a variety of ways including integration of prior clinical experience, distance learning, and creation of culturally responsive environments.

Responsibilities
Teaching - 60%
Developing and updating curriculum.
Teaching and advising graduate students in the MEd in Counselor Education Program.
Managing courses through systematic use of syllabi.
Keeping accurate records of students' class performance, attendance, and grades.
Adopting and implementing common course objectives.
Participating in assessment of student learning outcomes.
Service - 10%
Providing service to the department, college, university, community and profession.
Scholarship - 30%
Engaging in notable scholarly activity and research.
Distributing research in international/national peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited program.
Licensed or license eligible as a school counselor or professional counselor (LPC) in Georgia.
Prior counseling work experience; prior college teaching experience; professional identity in counseling through membership in organizations.
Assistant Professor: An early-career as a faculty member, who has earned a terminal degree in their discipline. There is evidence that the candidate's body of work represents research potential to achieve national/international recognition with further development. Show beginning evidence of impact either in the knowledge-base or practice. The candidate should show characteristics of being outstanding in teaching. The candidate will demonstrate an understanding of service to the program, department, and college.
Associate Professor: A mid-career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. There is evidence that the candidate's body of work has a focused research and/or scholarship agenda that represents a significant step towards national/international recognition. There is evidence of impact either in the knowledge-base or practice. Candidate has evidence of outstanding teaching. Candidate has evidence of substantial service to their program, department, college, university, and/or the profession.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
Preferred Qualifications
A concentration in School Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the master's or doctoral level. Evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g. published articles, book chapters, books, and/or professional conference presentations); experience with online teaching. Experience in grant writing, development, and/or procurement in human services.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0.
Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
