This role serves as a vital point of connection among graduate students, faculty, and community partners within the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. By providing guidance throughout the admissions process, supporting clinical placement activities, and mentoring students as they progress through their academic and clinical experiences, you'll help students navigate important milestones on their path toward professional success.

This position offers a rewarding blend of student support, program coordination, relationship building, and community engagement. You'll collaborate closely with faculty and program leadership, help organize events and initiatives that enrich the student experience, and foster partnerships with community organizations that support clinical training opportunities. Summary of Responsibilities

• Accreditation duty. Maintain the CMHC website to be up to date and aligned with accreditation requirements. Support the program in keeping accreditation records. Maintain evaluation data for the program in accordance with accreditation requirements.
• Support the Clinical Director in finding, maintaining, and supporting clinical site placements. Maintain records of site placement contracts, prospective sites, and discontinued sites. Maintain a record of student progress through internship sites. Support the Clinical Director in ensuring student licensing is up to date. Track student insurance coverage. Maintain strong working relationships with community partners, including placing and advising students in clinical placements.
• Administrative duty. Oversee the organization of CMHC files, class schedules, and books. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Advise and mentor prospective and current students related to their clinical experiences and academic courses. Assist in organizing and interviewing prospective students. Support student development by providing class sequencing direction, internship site direction, and program options. Manage students' class schedules, assign rooms, and organize class assignments. Maintain a list of student applications, students accepted, and student progress in the program. Recruitment duty. Actively engage in student recruitment. Attend recruitment fairs for the CMHC program, develop and distribute marketing materials, and maintain a list of fairs the program attends. Develop brochures/flyers for the program to distribute at events.
• Retention duty. Support CMHC faculty in student retention efforts by helping to organize student events. Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing program events.
• Assist in student graduation from the program. Develop, coordinate, and attend graduation ceremonies and celebrations. Developing and coordinating will include communicating with students, organizing student gifts, communicating with the university to confirm degrees are completed, planning the event food and celebration materials, coordinating the time and location, and assisting in communicating activities to student invitees.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications


Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a related field, plus a minimum of two years of experience; OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling six years.
For Example:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience.
• OR an associate's degree in a related field and four years of related experience.
• OR two years of college coursework (approximately 60 semester credits) in a related field and four years of related experience.
• OR one year of college coursework (approximately 30 semester credits) in a related field and five years of related experience.
• OR six years of related experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities


Knowledge

• Knowledge or experience in the CMHC or behavioral health field.
  

Skills

• Skills in maintaining current student program/clinical accreditation and student experience statistics, administering and reviewing field evaluations within a computerized system.
  
• Superior organization and computer skills, including the use of Google Drive/Docs/Sheets and Qualtrics.
  

Abilities

• Ability to advise and mentor prospective and current graduate students related to the program, clinical placements, and academic courses.
  
• Ability to seek field placements, foster, and expand community relationships.
  
• Ability to advertise the program to prospective students and recruit qualified applicants.
  
• Ability to assist with organizing, planning, and hosting program events.
  
• Ability to maintain strong working relationships with community partners, which will include placing and supervising students in practicum/internship placements.
