Georgia College & State University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction for an on-campus faculty position in Milledgeville, Georgia. The primary teaching responsibility is in the online Master of Education (MEd) program. The successful candidate may also teach in the hybrid Doctor of Education (EdD) program, which includes both online and on-campus courses, as well as online courses in the Teacher Leadership Education Specialist (EdS) program.

Faculty - Teaching/Instructing -
Teach online and blended graduate courses in Curriculum and Instruction Education theory, design, planning, assessment, and discipline-specific application; support candidates in their development into curriculum specialists and leaders; and develop and maintain collaborative relationships with school-based partners. May also teach graduate courses in related fields and undergraduate GC1Y (typically freshmen)/GC2Y (typically sophomore) core courses.

- Teach 4-4 course load each fall and spring semesters.
- Courses are taught both on campus and in an on-line environment.
- Courses a candidate may be asked to teach could include the following: curriculum theory, curriculum design and planning, instructional design and evaluation, student-centered pedagogy, curriculum evaluation, and applications to specific disciplines.
- Support candidates in their development into curriculum specialists and leaders; and develop and maintain collaborative relationships with school-based partners.
- Faculty are expected to establish and maintain an on-campus presence.
- Faculty are expected to regularly come to campus for program meetings, committee meetings, and instructional purposes and to attend convocation and graduation.
- Opportunities for summer teaching are often available.

Faculty are expected to conduct research and develop within the profession.

All faculty are expected to support the advancement of the department, college and university mission by providing service to the institution. Service may be at the department, college, university, community and disciplinary level. Duties include service on college-level and university-level committees, advising students regarding career options, and support of department-level outreach activities.

Educational Requirements
Terminal degree in Curriculum and Instruction, or a closely related field.

Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements for faculty credentials.

Required Experience
Evidence of successful teaching, including a minimum of three years of teaching experience with learners in Pre-K through grade 12.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Face-to-face and online course design experience.

Working knowledge of Quality Matters standards.

Experience with accreditation reporting.

Record of scholarly activity, publications, presentations, grants, or other professional contributions.

Preferred Experience
Evidence of successful teaching in higher education.

The proposed salary is $63,551.
