The Department of Operations and Analytics in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business seeks a part-time Lecturer.

Department of Operations and Analytics

The Department of Operations and Analytics in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio consists of 15 tenure/tenure track and fixed-term-track faculty members and offers undergraduate degrees in business analytics, operations and supply chain management, and actuarial science, and a graduate degree in business analytics. Our faculty and students have been recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally for excellence in both research and teaching.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Type: Part Time

Position Summary

The successful candidate will teach one or more sections of undergraduate or graduate business analytics courses. Expectations include holding regular office hours, managing course materials via Canvas, and ensuring all assessments meet the department's rigorous academic and AACSB accreditation standards.

Possible undergraduate courses to be taught may include:

  • Data Visualization
  • Database Management
  • Introduction to Business Statistics
  • Fundamental Business Analytics
  • Statistical Methods for Business 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Applied Statistics, Applied Demography, or a closely related quantitative field from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
  • Must currently reside in State of Texas.
  • This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field. 
  • Two academic years (four semesters) of university teaching or five plus years of industry experience in the analytics field.

This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
