The J. Whitney Bunting College of Business & Technology at Georgia College & State University, with programs of study accredited by AACSB and ABET, invites applications for the position of Accounting Lecturer. Candidates with a terminal degree in accounting are encouraged to apply. 

The faculty member, in this 10-month, non-tenure-track position, will teach introductory and upper-level undergraduate accounting courses.

Faculty- Teaching / Instruction Responsibilities 

- Full-time instructional load in the areas of accounting 

- Regular course meetings and instruction 

- Mentoring Students 

- Other teaching responsibilities 

Knowledge and ability to convey current philosophies, practices, and theories related to the academic discipline. 

- Faculty also contribute to the Georgia College & State University core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore seminar (GC2Y) courses. All Georgia College & State University faculty share the responsibility of teaching our core curriculum and providing foundation courses for majors and non-majors alike. 

Lecturers are expected to maintain appropriate faculty qualification status in alignment with College of Business & Technology policy and AACSB Standard 3.

Faculty - Professional Development 
Faculty are expected to stay current in their field.

Faculty - Service to Institution 
All faculty are expected to help the department in recruiting majors. Faculty members are expected to attend Department meetings and events. All faculty are expected to support the advancement of the department, college and university mission by providing service to the institution.

Service may be at the department, college, university, community and disciplinary level. Duties include service on college-level and university- level committees, advising students regarding career options, and support of department-level outreach activities.

Educational Requirements
Terminal degree in Accounting (Ph.D. or DBA) or a closely related field is preferred; ABD will also be considered.

Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials))

Record of scholarly activity, publications, or creative works

Preferred Educational Qualifications
CPA certification is preferred; however, those holding other relevant accounting certifications will also be considered.

The proposed salary range is $60,000 to $65,000
