Assistant Professor - Accounting

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach Accounting courses within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs
  • Normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester and may involve traditional, blended/hybrid, and online instruction
  • Advise undergraduate/graduate student.
  • Produce scholarly publications consistent with AACSB accreditation and institutional standards
  • Provide department, college, University, and professional service in accordance with departmental tenure and promotion guidelines, including participation with student organizations and networking with representatives from the accounting profession
  • Support student recruitment and retention efforts
  • Comply with accreditation standards


Required Qualifications


  • Ph.D./DBA or ABD (doctorate completion by January 2027) from an AACSB-accredited doctoral program either majoring in Accounting or Business Administration (with a concentration in Accounting). The candidate must have completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting.
  • Professional certification in Accounting (e.g. CPA, CMA)
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver highly effective teaching for undergraduate and graduate courses in Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, and Managerial/Cost Accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality peer-reviewed research related to Accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and mentor students
  • Evidence of effective communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal)
