Job Summary

This position will lead Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CyManII)'s engagement efforts by strategically targeting, recruiting, and onboarding a broad portfolio of new members and creating collaborative opportunities through innovative teaming efforts for current and new members. They will ensure that all of CyManII's engagement efforts are successfully executed in compliance with federal and state policies.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Advance CyManII's strategic vision and mission by leading engagement initiatives that strengthen organizational impact, stakeholder relationships, and long-term growth.
  2. Drive the execution of organizational policies and strategic initiatives by ensuring alignment with federal and state objectives, regulations, institutional priorities, and governance standards.
  3. Cultivate and expand high-impact partnerships across academia, government, industry, and national organizations to advance CyManII's mission, increase organizational visibility, and deliver value to the Institute's members.
  4. Provide executive oversight for strategic events, board meetings, and stakeholder engagements, ensuring seamless planning, operational excellence, and alignment with organizational priorities and available resources.
  5. Lead executive-level communications and stakeholder engagement by fostering strong relationships with members, executive leadership, vendors, and strategic partners while ensuring exceptional coordination and execution across all engagement activities.
  6. Direct the strategy, planning, marketing, and execution of major organizational events, representing CyManII at high-profile regional and national engagements while collaborating across departments to maximize organizational visibility and mission impact.
  7. Strengthen cross-functional collaboration by building productive relationships with staff, partners, and executive leadership to support organizational initiatives, execute partnership agreements, and advance institutional objectives.
  8. Oversee strategic initiatives and enterprise-wide projects, including stakeholder engagement, critical infrastructure programs, CRM/database management, and outreach efforts that expand organizational influence and support sustainable growth.
  9. Represent CyManII as a senior executive at national conferences, industry forums, and strategic engagements, delivering presentations that strengthen the institute's reputation, influence, and membership growth.
  10. Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute enterprise-wide growth strategies that advance CyManII's mission in cybersecurity for manufacturing and critical supply chains.
  11. Provide strategic leadership across finance, operations, marketing, and program teams to align organizational messaging, pricing strategies, business models, and revenue-generating initiatives that drive sustainable organizational growth. 
  12. Lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for new programs, products, services, and strategic initiatives that expand organizational reach and expand revenue streams.
  13. Identify, cultivate, and secure strategic business opportunities, partnerships, and new markets that enhance CyManII's national presence and long-term financial sustainability.
  14. Collaborate with Institute leadership, members, and strategic partners to identify emerging market needs, validate new service offerings, and develop innovative solutions that advance the institute's mission and member value. 
  15. Foster an environment of innovation, continuous improvement, and strategic agility by championing entrepreneurial thinking, data-driven decision-making, and organizational excellence.
  16. Build, mentor, develop and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams while promoting accountability, professional growth, collaboration, and an environment of exceptional performance.
  17. Establish and strengthen strategic partnerships with government, industry, academia, and nonprofit organizations to expand CyManII's service portfolio, cybersecurity workforce initiatives, and national impact.
  18. Lead organizational performance optimization by evaluating operational effectiveness, identifying scalable solutions, implementing enabling technologies, and driving process improvements that enhance efficiency and organizational capacity.
  19. Cultivate and maintain executive relationships with key stakeholders, industry leaders, member organizations, sponsors, and strategic decision-makers to strengthen partnerships, expand influence, and generate new opportunities for organizational growth.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of related work experience.
  • This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office conditions. Regularly drives to a variety of campus locations. 
  • Travel up to 25 percent of work schedule. 
  • Occasionally after hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.

Physical Demands

  • Primarily sedentary role with occasional standing or walking; may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

This position will work both on campus and remotely in Texas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.

This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
