Full-Time Faculty, Department Chair, Associate Degree Surgical Technology ProgramDivision of Health ProfessionsMCCC/MTA Unit PositionSALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $57,289.00 - $60,000.00. At this time, the College is not providing sponsorships for Visas.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Provide overall administration, organization, and supervision of the Surgical Technology Program.
- Lead continuous program assessment, quality review, and improvement initiatives.
- Provide academic leadership and oversight, including curriculum planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, prioritize expenditures, and maintain an inventory of program equipment and supplies.
- Deliver high-quality instruction that supports the diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and learning styles of community college students.
- Facilitate the application of theory to clinical practice while promoting critical thinking and independent learning.
- Collaborate effectively with program faculty and staff as an active member of the academic team.
- Participate in college governance and required meetings, including departmental meetings, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Maintain required professional credentials. Participate in continuing education, professional development activities, and an ARC/STSA-sponsored accreditation workshop at least once every five years.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to manage challenging or sensitive situations professionally.
- Promote the College's mission, goals, and objectives and perform other duties as assigned in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success by fostering an environment that is responsive to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Job Requirements:
- The Program Director should pursue ongoing formal training designed to maintain and upgrade his/her professional, instructional, and administrative capabilities.
- The Program Director should participate in an ARC/STSA sponsored accreditation workshop at least once every five years.
- Possess a minimum of an Associate Degree
- Have documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning;
- Be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency;
- Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA);
- Have a minimum total of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past ten years.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI background check as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Master's degree
- LMS experience
- ARC/STSA accreditation experience
