Position Description:Operations and Maintenance (90%)
- Perform all phases of interior and exterior maintenance painting.
- Clean and prepare all surfaces before painting and perform any needed surface repairs. Preparations may include washing, sanding, pressure washing, masking, spackling, caulking, drywall taping, and other processes as needed.
- Apply appropriate primers, paints, sealers, stains, and other finishes as needed. Use brush, roll, and spray application methods as needed.
- Rig and operate scaffolds, lifts, and stages for work at heights up to 150 feet.
- Provide direction and training to temporary workers.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
- Plan and organize assigned work to fulfill task standards, meet schedule requirements, and maintain workload balance.
- Work autonomously or as part of a team, depending on the project or problem being addressed.
- Properly and safely use appropriate tools used in performing required tasks. Account for and maintain university-owned tools and equipment; repair and maintain tools as needed. Maintain a safe and clean shop space.
- Follow and promote established safety rules and regulations; attend safety trainings as required.
- Work in a safe, clean and respectful manner while performing work on campus. Work in occupied spaces with minimal disruption of campus activities.
Scheduling (3%)
- Schedule work taking into account customer requests, space available and potential disruption to adjacent academic, work and living areas.
Communication and Customer service (4%)
- Communicate with requester regarding assessment, planning, scheduling, and progress of work.
- Provide timely and ongoing notification to all parties affected by work.
- Coordinate with Facilities managers on project request recommendations, estimates, and work management reports as required.
Administrative (3%)
- Open, update, track and complete all work orders assigned. Complete all paperwork and tracking required for personal time sheets in a timely manner. Attend departmental meetings as required.
Marginal Functions- Supervise student workers
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma and four years experience as a painter or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Compensation at a Glance$32.64 per hour - $37.64 per hour

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
