Associate Clinical Professor or Clinical Professor (Non-Tenure Track), Director of Professional Programs

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions:
The mission of the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy (the School) is to prepare students for lifelong success in health careers by providing an excellent, student-centered learning environment. We aspire to develop leadership skills in our students and a strong commitment to their professions, to interprofessional collaboration, and to society. These efforts are assisted by linkages across the University of the Pacific (the University) professional and liberal arts programs. We support outstanding professional and graduate teaching, research and other scholarly activity, and services as a means of achieving our mission.

The Associate Clinical Professor or Clinical Professor, Director of Professional Programs is a full-time, non-tenure track appointment at the University of the Pacific, Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy. The Director of Professional Programs serves as a member in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Office of Professional Programs. In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Professional Programs, the Director of Professional Programs oversees the overall coordination of the experiential curriculum, support the Regional Coordinators and supervises the administrative staff in the Office of Professional Programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Pharm.D. degree with residency and/or fellowship, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Pharmacist or eligible for licensure in California.
  • Current Regional Coordinator within the University of Pacific is required.
  • Strong leadership, at least 5 years of experiential education coordination experience, clinical practice experience, ethical conduct, professionalism, multicultural and diversity competence, management abilities, and effective interpersonal communication skills are required.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work is performed during standard hours; Additional hours may be required to meet business needs or deadlines. Travel to various regions is required.
