Part-Time Occupational Therapy Instructor (300 Hours/Year) Start Date:
8/24/26Carroll University seeks a dynamic and innovative part-time Instructor for its successful Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) program. The MOT program is fully accredited until 2030; with all previous graduating classes exceeding the national NBCOT certification pass rate. Outstanding facilities support the program, including the new College of Health Sciences building and the Carroll University Community Health Services Building which houses community-based experiential learning opportunities serving our community's most needy. Responsibilities of this 12-month part-time appointment include teaching and student support. Areas of expertise preferred, but not limited to evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, research, pediatrics, orthopedics or hand therapy. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of the entry-level MOT curriculum through didactic, laboratory and student support instructions. Candidates who are innovative and value dynamic and comprehensive approach to curriculum, instruction, and occupational therapy practice are encouraged to apply to this 12-month part-time position.
Responsibilities include:Fall Semester
• OTH515 Human Movement & Occupational Performance Lecture- 3 credits
Spring Semester
• OTH 561 Interventions in Physical Dysfunction I Lecture (co teaching)- 1.5 credits
Spring Semester
• OTH 561 Interventions in Physical Dysfunction I Lab (co teaching)- 1credit lab load
• OTH 651 Research II- 2 credits
Summer Semester
• OTH 506 Applied Anatomy & Physiology Lab (co teaching)- 1 credit lab load
• OTH 506 Tutor Sessions- 3 hrs./wk.
Admissions review 20 hrs./year
**Teaching assignments are based on the instructional needs of the (MOT) Program. The MOT Program Director/ Chair may modify teaching assignments, course responsibilities, and instructional modalities as needed to support program priorities, curriculum delivery, faculty expertise, enrollment, and accreditation requirements.

Candidate requirements:
• Hold an academic terminal degree (post-professional OTD, PhD, EdD, or equivalent)
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in the field of occupational therapy
• Hold NBCOT certification and current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the state of Wisconsin
• Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to successfully interact with multiple members of University, College of Health Sciences and medical community
• Post-secondary teaching experience preferred
Salary: Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Term of contract is one year (potential for renewal) including the Fall, Spring and Summer terms.
The Program: The Carroll Master of Occupational Therapy program annually enrolls a 30-student cohort to its full-time, 24-month, 86-credit curriculum designed in the context of the Carroll University mission and ACOTE standards. Consistent with the College mission, the curriculum includes a unique three-course interprofessional course series that focuses on culturally appropriate care and service to underrepresented populations. The MOT program is housed within the new interdisciplinary 65,000 sq. ft. College of Health Sciences building. This facility provides comprehensive teaching, laboratory and simulation spaces specifically designed for the MOT program. In addition, the program utilizes the modern Michael and Mary Jaharis Laboratories for its state-of-the-art cadaver lab and Anatomage Dissection table.
The College: The College of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through seven departments- Athletic Training, Human Movement Sciences, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies and Interprofessional Studies. Health sciences account for ~60% of the University enrollment. The mission of the College of Health Sciences is to educate students to be innovative professionals who collaborate to serve the health needs of their communities. A dynamic and growing entity, College-wide foci include interprofessional education and practice, the integrated approach to health, innovative learning and healthcare technologies, community partnerships and service to medically underserved populations.
