Description: Purchase College seeks an energetic, relationship-driven, and student-centered Transfer Recruitment & Success Advisor to join the Admissions team. This position is responsible for expanding transfer enrollment through sustained recruitment, advising, and partnership development with regional community colleges while supporting the College's overall undergraduate enrollment goals.
The successful candidate will serve as Purchase College's primary representative at community colleges with established transfer partnerships, including Westchester Community College, Rockland Community College, and Dutchess Community College, maintaining a regular on-site presence at each institution. The advisor will also cultivate relationships with additional community colleges and community-based organizations throughout the region to expand transfer opportunities and strengthen the College's transfer pipeline.
This position combines transfer recruitment, enrollment counseling, advising, partnership development, and admissions operations to create seamless pathways for students pursuing a bachelor's degree at Purchase College. The advisor will build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, transfer advisors, EOP, TRIO, Honors Programs, athletics, multicultural organizations, and campus leadership while guiding prospective students through every stage of the enrollment process-from initial inquiry to matriculation.
As a member of the Admissions team, the advisor will also support first-year recruitment efforts, including territory management, application review, recruitment travel, and major admissions events, as departmental priorities require.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the unique needs and barriers facing transfer students and possess the ability to build collaborative partnerships across institutions. They will be an effective communicator and presenter with a strong customer service orientation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor's degree.
• One year of professional experience in admissions, advising, enrollment management, student affairs, or a related higher education field.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly between community college partner campuses and Purchase College.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse constituencies.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with transfer students or transfer admissions.
• Experience in SUNY or public higher education.
• Familiarity with Slate CRM, Banner, and Degree Works.
• Knowledge of transfer credit evaluation and articulation agreements.
• Experience working with first-generation and low-income student populations.
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred).
