Salary Range: Up to $60,918/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Details

Job Summary

The Research Program Coordinator works in partnership with grant principal investigators and child welfare-foster care initiative staff to provide specialized program support in the coordination of all phases and activities of major research programs/projects related to child welfare systems and supports for youth and families. This position is responsible for research coordination, data collection, and administrative support in the planning, scheduling, reporting, and coordination of major research programs/projects.

This is a grant-funded position, which may be extended or shortened based upon availability of funds and/or work.

Core Responsibilities
  1. Oversees the day-to-day administrative coordination of research programs/projects, including data reporting, data management, staffing, budget forecasting, deadlines, and supervision of assigned research staff.
  2. Creates and maintains systems, procedures, and/or websites for data management or processes.
  3. Applies expert knowledge of child welfare and foster care to inform research design, both quantitative and qualitative data collections, analysis and report- writing.
  4. Coordinates with appropriate university entities including the business service center, research administration team, and grants and contracts to ensure grant compliance, accounting, and reporting.
  5. Develops and manages interim reports for grant principal investigators, funding sponsors, and institutional review boards to ensure projects are moving forward to timely completion.
  6. Engages community and state-level stakeholders and presents relevant data and outcomes in community and state presentations.
  7. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and ensures safety of all confidential and sensitive information.
  8. Keeps the director/grant principal investigator apprised of the status of proposed and ongoing programs/projects.
  9. Administers and monitors grant budgets to ensure adherence to budgets, staffing, and reporting.
  10. Establishes and maintains contact on behalf of project staff with local/federal agencies and organizations needed to facilitate projects.
  11. Provides administrative support for conferences/symposiums.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience, including grant, research or program administration.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work or related field.
  • Professional experience in a state child welfare or foster care agency.
  • Research experience in a university setting.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of federal or state grants and contracts policies and procedures.

Working Conditions
  • Office environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary based on the needs of the department.

Physical Demands
  • Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.

This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
