The Senior Data Analyst is a strategic and technical role within Information Technology responsible for advancing the institution's data analytics, reporting, and decision-support capabilities. This position partners closely with academic and administrative departments to analyze data, develop actionable insights, improve data quality, and support data-informed decision-making across the institution. The Senior Data Analyst designs and develops enterprise reporting solutions, dashboards, data models, and analytics frameworks while helping establish data governance standards and best practices. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure institutional data is accurate, accessible, secure, and aligned with strategic goals. The position requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with experience working with ERP systems, data visualization tools, SQL, and modern analytics platforms in a collaborative higher education environment.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, institutional research, or related analytics roles.
Experience working in higher education environments, desired.
Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts and analytics insights to non-technical audiences.
Experience supporting institutional effectiveness, enrollment analytics, student success, or operational reporting initiatives.
Technical Skills:
Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
Experience working with enterprise applications such as ERP, SIS, CRM, or HRIS systems.
Familiarity with Ellucian, Anthology, Workday, Salesforce, or similar higher education platforms.
Experience with data warehousing, ETL/integration processes, or cloud analytics platforms.
Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and privacy practices.
Exposure to predictive analytics, AI, or machine learning concepts.
Human Relations Skills:
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills suited for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong commitment to delivering responsive and respectful customer service.
Ability to stay focused, organized, and productive when working under deadlines or during periods of high activity.
Adaptable and able to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment.
Skilled in managing multiple assignments and projects simultaneously with minimal oversight.
Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a collaborative team.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
