DESCRIPTION
The Department of Music at Otterbein University invites applications for an adjunct (part time) Instructor to teach Applied Guitar, Guitar Methods for Music Educators, and to coach a faculty-led commercial music group and jazz combo, starting in Fall 2026. We seek an Artist Teacher of Guitar for music majors studying guitar as a major instrument, and also for non-majors seeking applied instruction. The teacher should be an experienced performer and teacher, with a command of the full range of jazz and commercial techniques, and knowledge of classical guitar.
QUALIFICATIONS
Some knowledge of guitar classroom methods and techniques is desirable as Guitar Methods for Music Educators is offered every two years. Duties may also include teaching a guitar class for non-majors if there is sufficient student interest. Finally, candidates with expertise across the music curriculum may be asked to teach commercial music courses in future semesters.
Graduate degree in guitar performance (or related field) and previous teaching experience required.
