Position Summary
Albertus Magnus College is seeking a Head Women's and Men's Track and Field Coach (Indoor and Outdoor) that will serve in a part-time role during the 2026-27 academic year in advance of the program launch in 2027-28. Pending the achievement of requisite benchmarks, the position will elevate to full-time status in 2027-28.
The Head Coach is accountable for developing and implementing a student-athlete recruitment plan to achieve the requisite roster size and ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of appropriate rosters. The Head Coach implements a strength and conditioning program and plans for and manages practices and competitions. The Head Coach also must provide positive guidance to each student-athlete that fosters and develops the premise that athletics are an integral component of the student experience, and that athletic achievement must accompany academic success. The position is also responsible for the supervision of assistant coaches.
QualificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities
Head Coach
- Develops and implements a recruiting plan to achieve and maintain a roster size adequate for sponsorship of women's and men's indoor and outdoor track and field teams in accordance with the College's enrollment growth strategies.
- Develops and implements a daily practice plan to ensure proper preparation for intercollegiate competition.
- In conjunction with the Director of Athletics, works with local facilities and/or municipalities to coordinate practice and/or competition.
- Provides contest preparation by scouting opponents, as necessary.
- Promotes the visions and values of Albertus Magnus College by emphasizing the experience and education of each student-athlete as the most important component of intercollegiate athletic participation.
- Supervises assistant coaches and provides feedback for continued growth and development.
- Provides a year-round strength and conditioning program tailored towards the individual sports
- Represents their programs during coaches' meetings.
- Coordinates fundraising activities to benefit the student-athlete experience for the women's and men's track and field programs.
Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Two or more years of demonstrated, successful experience working in intercollegiate athletics and/or related areas.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience as a student-athlete or coach of the sport.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations, including compliance
- A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.
