Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies

At the University of Texas at San Antonio, the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (within the College of Education and Human Development) empowers educators to become effective leaders in times of ambiguity and challenge. Through a faculty dedicated to responsive community partnerships, the department delivers a comprehensive graduate curriculum featuring a Master's in Educational Leadership and Higher Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

 

 



Salary Range: $3,500 per course.

 



Job Type: Part Time

 



 



Position Summary

The Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies in the College of Education and Human Development at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a Lecturer position to begin in Summer 2026. The primary responsibility of this role is teaching graduate-level courses within the department's core curriculum. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's mission of preparing transformational leaders by delivering instruction in areas related to K-12 Educational Leadership and/or Higher Education Administration. The expected teaching load for this position is a minimum of one course per semester.

 



 



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • An earned doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

     

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching graduate-level courses, as evidenced by teaching evaluations, syllabi samples, or other relevant documentation.

     

  • A record of successful teaching experience in higher education, online and/or in-person settings.

     

  • A clear ability and commitment to contribute to the department's mission of preparing transformational leaders who can work effectively in multifaceted and challenging educational contexts.

     

  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

     


Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of graduate-level teaching experience at another accredited institution of higher education.


For Candidates Supporting the K-12 Program:

 

 

  • Certification as an Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) Trainer of Trainers (TOT).

     

  • Certification as a Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Trainer of Trainers (TOT) and/or completion of Field Supervisor Coaching Training for Advanced Certification Candidates.

     


For Candidates Supporting the Higher Education Program:

 

 

  • Teaching or professional experience within Higher Education or Community College settings.
