The University of Mount Union seeks candidates for a full-time position of Assistant Director of Graduate Admission. Under the supervision of the Director of Admission, the Assistant Director of Graduate Admission at the University of Mount Union is responsible for attaining recruitment goals for all Mount Union graduate programs. This individual participates fully in all recruitment activities that lead to the achievement of the University's enrollment goals. The Assistant Director supports and guides students through the college selection process, orienting them to the offerings of the University. The Assistant Director fosters enthusiasm among professionals and prospective students seeking admission into the University of Mount Union.
This position travels on a regular schedule around an assigned region, which will include overnight and out-of-state travel. He/she is responsible for establishing, building, and managing both new and mature relationships between the University and organization personnel related to our graduate program offerings, as well as with community and access groups.
The Assistant Director is energetic, creative, forward thinking, and goal-oriented, as well as detailed-oriented with a tolerance for ambiguity. The Assistant Director will have demonstrated strengths in the areas of planning, communication, and follow-through. He/she will demonstrate excellent judgment and understands that effectively representing the University is a constant priority.

Responsibilities
Travels on a regular schedule within their assigned region. Must maintain a valid, non-suspended, Ohio driver's license at all times and meet the criteria to drive a University vehicle.
Responsible for establishing, building, and managing both new and mature relationships between the University and organization personnel related to our graduate program offerings, as well as with community and access groups.
Communicates with prospective students regarding admission into the University, including following a structured communication plan that includes calling and the drafting of emails and letters to prospective students and their parents.
Participates as an active member of the Office of Admission staff at all recruitment events, including evenings and weekends.
Manages travel and program budgets.
Responsible for the integrity and consistency of recruitment data for assigned territories.
Participates in strategic planning efforts for graduate programs
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in continuing education courses, professional organizations, seminars and workshops, reading current literature, and maintaining professional contacts in the higher education community.
Leads the development and coordination of special projects as assigned by the Director of Admission
Provides training opportunities for Office of Admission staff on graduate programs and their enrollment processes
Assists with the development and maintenance of a yearly recruitment plan along with enrollment and marketing plans for all graduate programs
In conjunction with graduate program directors, reviews admission files and adds admission decisions into Slate.
Collaborates with the Director of Admission and Admission Counselor/Recruitment Communications position to establish and maintain effective communication flows for prospective graduate students.
Coordinates a significant annual recruitment program and/or activity, such as a specialized visit event or project focused on a target group of constituents.
Participates in University compliance training as communicated by the University, the Vice President of Enrollment Management, or the Director of Admission.
Performs responsibilities of the Director of Admission in their absence; includes, but is not limited to, attending university meetings, leading Office of Admission staff meetings, confirming admission decisions.
Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The Assistant Director is expected to exercise judgment and to make decisions considered appropriate and necessary to provide the designated services, consulting with the Director of Admission on a regular basis.
The successful candidate must minimally possess a bachelor's degree, have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. Preference will be given to candidates with a master's degree, 2 years experiences within an admission office or any graduate admission experience, and experience working with diverse populations. Proven ability to develop a new recruitment territory is beneficial. A valid non-suspended driver's license is required, and the successful candidate must meet the criteria to drive a University vehicle.
This position is required to complete assigned University compliance training as communicated by the University.
