Salary Range: $32,432 based on 28 hours per week.
Job Type: Part Time, 28 hours per week.

Job Details Job SummaryThe Program Coordinator will serve as the primary administrative and operational lead for the R25 training program, ensuring the successful implementation, coordination, and evaluation of all program activities. This individual will work closely with the Program Director/Principal Investigator (PD/PI), faculty mentors, and community partners to support a structured, high-impact training experience for participating students.
This is a grant-funded position, which may be extended or shortened based upon availability of funds and/or work. Core Responsibilities1. Program Implementation and Logistics
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of the training program, including scheduling workshops, seminars, and research activities.
- Manage program timelines to ensure alignment with proposed milestones and deliverables.
- Organize onboarding processes for trainees, including orientation, materials distribution, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate use of facilities, instructional space, and resources.
2. Trainee Recruitment and Retention Support
- Assist in the recruitment of program participants from targeted low-resource communities.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for trainees, providing ongoing communication and support.
- Monitor trainee engagement and attendance, and proactively address barriers to participation.
3. Mentorship Program Coordination
- Facilitate mentor-mentee matching across faculty, graduate, and peer mentors.
- Schedule and track mentorship meetings and activities.
- Provide support to mentors and trainees to ensure productive and consistent engagement.
4. Program Evaluation and Data Management
- Oversee collection and management of program evaluation data, including surveys, attendance records, and outcome metrics.
- Assist in tracking key performance indicators such as STEM self-efficacy, retention, and research engagement.
- Work with the PD/PI to prepare progress reports and evaluation summaries for NIH reporting.
5. Community and Institutional Partnerships
- Maintain communication with partner schools, community organizations, and institutional stakeholders.
- Coordinate outreach activities and program visibility efforts.
- Support the development of sustainable partnerships aligned with program goals.
6. Administrative and Compliance Support
- Ensure adherence to institutional and NIH policies, including documentation and reporting requirements.
- Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, and reimbursement processes.
- Maintain organized records of program activities and communications.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma, Vocational Training, or Apprenticeship in a related field.
- Five (5) years of related work experience.
- Additional education may substitute for experience on a one year for one year basis.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in education, public health, STEM field, or related discipline.
- Experience in program coordination, education, or workforce development initiatives.

Working Conditions- Office environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary depending on the department's needs.
Physical Demands- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary; if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
This position will work
both on campus and remotely in Texas. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
