Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $248,000.00 Annually
Maximum $263,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

This is a College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) Administration-level position within Western University of Health Sciences and is offered in conjunction with a faculty appointment. Together, the administrative role of Associate Dean of Faculty and Staff Affairs (PCN A04048) and the faculty role (PCN F03355) comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE).
The salary range listed in this posting represents the total compensation for the combined Administrative and Faculty responsibilities. Please refer to the corresponding job posting under our Faculty jobs section for details on the additional assignment.
The Associate Dean of Faculty and Staff Affairs serves as a senior leader within the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP), providing strategic oversight and operational leadership across academic, clinical, and administrative domains. This role ensures alignment with the college’s mission, vision, and values while fostering excellence in education, research, and patient care.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the assigned classification, with or without reasonable accommodation(s), using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher education administration, accreditation standards, and integration of academic and clinical programs.

 

 
Skills:
  • Strong strategic leadership skills, including planning, program oversight, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders and support shared governance.
  • Demonstrated success in faculty and staff management, accreditation processes, and strategic planning.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
 
Abilities:
  • Ability to lead faculty and staff development efforts across the full lifecycle, including recruitment, mentoring, evaluation, and retention.
  • Ability to manage complex organizational dynamics, drive continuous improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Capacity to foster an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned with institutional mission and priorities.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.


Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required. Residency trained and Board Certified in a medical or surgical specialty.

 


Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in medical education and/or clinical practice.


Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Advanced academic credentials preferred.
