Position Description
The College of Education (COE) at Seattle University seeks applications for a full-time, Teaching Professor or Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to join the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership (rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications). This individual will join a cohesive and collaborative faculty passionate about and committed to preparing critical, reflective, and skilled educators for social justice. This clinical faculty member will teach and support teacher education courses and field experiences in graduate teacher education pathways in both in-person and online formats. The faculty member in this position will also lead the revisions of the mathematics education courses across our programs. Teaching responsibilities focus on K-12 mathematics education informed by sociocultural perspectives on learning and social foundations, anti-racist pedagogies, and curriculum. The Teaching Professor or Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor will be responsible for teaching a full course load of teacher education courses per term, in addition to mentoring, advising, and supporting students. The position start date is September 1, 2026.
Primary responsibilities include teaching both in-person and online, service, and program development. Responsibilities will also include course and/or curriculum design, supporting program continuous improvement activities, working with diverse communities, and student advising and mentoring. Workload will focus primarily on K-12 mathematics education within a context of inclusion and anti-racist culturally sustaining pedagogies. Some Saturday's teaching is expected with this position. Service will include developing collaborative relationships with external partners, program activities such as reviewing admissions files, conducting program information sessions for prospective students, admissions interviews, and working with other faculty regarding general program and College operations.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
