The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. A minimum of five years of clinical experience in gynecologic brachytherapy, with comprehensive expertise in high-dose rate (HDR) treatment options for cervical, uterine, and vaginal cancers is required. The candidate must have a proven ability to lead and manage a women's health team of four or more faculty physicians, with prior experience in a formal leadership capacity strongly preferred. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of achievement in research and scholarly activities, reflecting a commitment to advancing the field of gynecologic radiation oncology. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. It is required to be Board Certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching, training, and mentoring of radiation oncology residents, medical physics residents, medical physics graduate students, and visiting physics residents or trainees from other institutions and countries. In addition to these core responsibilities, this role encompasses both formal and informal teaching engagements, including active participation in resident didactic series, serving in capacities both as a lecturer and as an in-person discussant.
Clinical responsibilities may include providing highly specialized clinical care with an emphasis on advanced gynecologic brachytherapy. This role will encompass the delivery of high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy for the treatment of cervical, uterine, and vaginal cancers, utilizing state-of-the-art, accredited technology. While the clinical focus of this position is rooted in the management of gynecologic malignancies, it will include care of other patients under the Women's Health Service, such as those with breast cancer. Candidate will oversee the Breast & Gyn Services; candidate's scope of clinical practice will extend beyond brachytherapy to include a comprehensive array of treatment modalities, such as conventional radiation therapy, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), proton therapy, photon and proton reirradiation, and total body irradiation (TBI), ensuring the highest standard of individualized, multidisciplinary care for all patients served.
In addition to these clinical responsibilities, this position carries a significant leadership role within the department. The selected candidate will serve as Chief of both the Breast and Gynecologic Oncology Services, providing strategic oversight, clinical direction, and administrative leadership across both service lines. In this capacity, the candidate will be expected to foster collaboration, drive programmatic growth, and uphold the department's commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include maintaining an active and productive research program with a focus on women's health, particularly in the area of gynecologic brachytherapy. This will include leading and/or participating in clinical trials that advance the field and contribute to improved patient outcomes. The candidate will be expected to disseminate their scholarly work through publication in peer-reviewed, high-impact scientific journals, with an emphasis on contributing as a first or last author. In addition, the candidate must possess, or demonstrate the clear potential to develop, a nationally and internationally recognized reputation in the field, reflecting a sustained commitment to advancing the science and practice of gynecologic brachytherapy and women's health.

It features advanced in-room imaging, including BK ultrasound and fluoroscopy, and is located next to MRI services for precise 3D treatment planning.
With the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Radiation Oncology provides patient care at the Ruth and Raymond Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine and fourteen community-based sites.
