Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.
Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $20.00 Hourly
Maximum $22.00 Hourly
Job Summary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Properly evaluating the facts and information relative to the animal care and welfare.
- Ability to accurately and clearly describe and record observations, calculations, and findings.
- Ability to accurately assess the health, behavior, and physical appearance of an animal to obtain accurate research findings.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to multitask in a busy research setting.
- Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
Experience:
- One year of relevant experience.
Certification/Licenses/Registration:
- Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) or eligibility to get the ALAT Certification within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Veterinary Technician California license, Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT) or Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) AALAS Certifications are preferred.
