Assistant Professor Academic Specialist in Ob/Gyn & Complex Family Planning

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of general obstetrics and gynecology and complex family planning. Successful candidates will primarily report to the Academic Specialist Division and secondarily engage with the Complex Family Planning Division. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates must have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited residency and be board certified/eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in complex family planning.

Teaching responsibilities may include clinical training and supervision of medical students, Ob/Gyn residents and Complex Family Planning fellows in both the hospital and outpatient settings and participation in formal teaching curriculum.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing full-scope obstetrics and gynecology and complex family planning in the ambulatory and inpatient settings.

Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are required. A commitment to resident and medical student education is required.

The successful candidate would join Penn Medicine Division of Academic Specialists and the Division of Complex Family Planning. The Division of Academic Specialists is a group of obstetricians and gynecologists, advanced practice providers including midwives, in a faculty practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The Division of Complex Family Planning is a group of Complex Family Planning subspecialists based at Penn Medicine University City and Penn Medicine Washington Square. Opportunities may be available to participate in quality improvement, clinical research and medical education projects.
