Position: Lecturer of Communication Studies

Department: Expressive Arts and Communication

Campus: North Manchester, IN, USA

Target Hire Date: May 2026

Manchester University is seeking a part‑time Lecturer of Communication Studies for the Fall 2026 semester. In this role, you will play a key role in shaping student learning through impactful teaching, mentorship, and engagement. This part‑time adjunct position reports to the Department Chair and supports a collaborative, student‑centered academic community.

What You'll Do:

  • Teach assigned COMM110: Foundations of Human Communication Courses.
  • Develop syllabi, deliver engaging instruction, and assess student learning.
  • Hold classes and office hours as scheduled.
  • Provide constructive guidance to support students' academic and professional growth.
  • Collaborate professionally with colleagues and follow university academic policies.


What You'll Need:

  • Preferred academically qualified candidates with have a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Communication Studies or a related field.
  • Professionally qualified candidates can apply if they meet the requirements: (1) minimum of 3 years of professional experience in related field and bachelor's degree or higher, (2) documented professional experience teaching introductory communication courses (i.e. student evaluations), and (3) scholarly or practitioner focused presentations or publications in related field. All should be evidenced on curriculum vitae/resume.
  • Strong teaching, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to clearly deliver content and support a diverse range of learners.
  • Effective organization, time management, and the ability to meet academic deadlines.
  • Skilled in evaluating student work and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications (word processing, email, online tools).
  • Commitment to a collegial, student‑focused teaching environment.
