The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Anesthesiology at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the Clinician Educator track.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking anesthesiologist to join our collaborative academic community. This faculty member will play a key leadership role, serving as the Director of Anesthesia Services and overseeing the PDM Sedation Suite, ensuring excellence in patient care, safety, and educational integration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality clinical and didactic instruction to postgraduate specialty students, including but not limited to Periodontics and Pediatric Dentistry residents as well as dental students, in all aspects of anesthesiology and sedation.
  • Delivering expert anesthetic and sedation management for patients with special health care needs and for individuals who require advanced sedative or anesthetic interventions.
  • Contributing to innovative educational initiatives, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the continuous advancement of our sedation and anesthesia programs.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
Preferred qualifications for this position include: (1) MD and/or DMD/DDS degree; (2) certificate of advanced training in an Advanced General Dentistry Education Program in Dental Anesthesiology (3) board eligibility or Board Certification from the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology; (4) eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; (5) experience in the anesthetic management of patients with special health care needs. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold active PA licensure.
