POSITION OVERVIEW
Under direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, the Senior Human Resources Analyst performs a broad range of complex, technical, and confidential tasks to support the strategic and operational functions of the Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for conducting professional-level research and data analysis to inform reports and decision-making, supporting employee and labor relations, and contributing to the development and implementation of District-wide policies and procedures. The role ensures compliance with laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements, and supports the integrity and functionality of personnel systems and records.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Senior Human Resources Analyst is distinguished from the Senior Benefits Analyst in that the former performs a broad range of human resources functions, with a particular emphasis on classification and compensation analysis, HRIS management, and compliance reporting. While the Senior Benefits Analyst focuses primarily on administering employee benefits and leave programs, the Senior Human Resources Analyst provides strategic and technical support across multiple HR domains, including labor relations, policy development, and organizational planning.
This position is designated as Confidential under Government Code Section 3540.1, indicating access to sensitive information used in the development of management positions related to employer-employee relations. Unlike the Senior Benefits Analyst, who focuses on health and welfare benefits and leave administration, the Senior Human Resources Analyst provides broader support across multiple HR functions including classification, compensation, EEO and compliance.

CLASSIFICATION & RETIREMENT PLAN
Employees in this position classification are considered Confidential Unit members and are not represented by a bargaining agreement. Confidential employees are also members of the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), to which the member contributes up to 8% of their reportable compensation on a monthly basis.
SALARY INFORMATION
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Grade: Confidential 10 (C10)
Full Salary Range: $90,432 - $115,056 annually
Starting Salary Range: $90,432 - $96,876 annually (Step 1 to Step 3.) Background and experience will determine placement. Step 3 is the maximum entering step.

Full-time Employees:
Dental and Vision Insurance - Delta Dental and VSP vision plans for employee and dependents, with no cost to employees
Vacation Leave - 22 days per year
Sick Leave - 12 days per year
Paid Holidays - 17 paid holidays annually, which includes a paid winter holiday break at the end of December.
Retirement through CalPERS - MCCD contributes 27.05% of employee's creditable earnings to CalPERS on a monthly basis (2024/2025). Vested after five (5) years. Mandatory employee contribution for 2024/2025 is 7% - 8%, depending on original date of membership and prior membership status.
Life Insurance - $50,000, with the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for the Lesser of 5x base annual salary or $500,000
Additional Retirement Savings Plans - Employees are also eligible to participate in a voluntary, tax-advantaged 403(b) or 457(b) retirement savings plan.
