Job Description:

In partnership with KCU's Center for Population Health and Equity, the Health Services Psychology Department at KCU is accepting applications for a Clinical Psychologist position at 0.6 FTE. The clinical psychologist will provide clinical services and trainee supervision at Care Beyond the Boulevard, working with doctoral clinical psychology students. Scheduling will be mutually agreed upon. Successful candidates will have a passion for providing care to underserved populations, collaborating with professional staff to provide quality care, and teaching the next generation of clinical psychologists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct psychological services to individuals experiencing homelessness through a clinical partnership with Care Beyond the Boulevard (CBB), a nonprofit healthcare organization. Services include intake evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and ongoing individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches tailored to underserved populations
  • Engage in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care within CBB's community-based, interdisciplinary setting
  • Collaborate with CBB's medical providers, case managers, and outreach teams to ensure continuity of care and address complex psychosocial needs
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based interventions
  • Provide supervision to clinical psychology trainees, providing oversight of clinical activities including assessment and therapy with CBB
  • Support student development through regular supervision meetings, feedback, and evaluation of clinical competencies
  • Collaborate with educators, school personnel, and other professionals to facilitate appropriate educational accommodations and interventions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Participate in developing goals, objectives, and systems to support the Center for Population Health and Equity, the department, and KCU overall


Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an APA accredited program
  • Knowledge, sensitivity, and passion for diversity, multiculturalism, social justice, and community service
  • Experience mentoring students
  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to employ critical thinking and analysis to solve complex problems.
  • Effectively interacts with academic, clinical, business, and regulatory personnel
  • Thrives in and actively supports a diverse environment of students and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member to ensure that departmental goals are met by providing support to staff, and always keeping students' and graduates' best interest as a priority
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications


Physical Requirements:
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
  • Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
  • Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
