Assistant Teaching Professor of Economics

Job Description Summary, Duties and Responsibilities, Required Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications

This is a full time, renewable, non-tenure track, academic year, appointment for the Fall of 2026

POSITION SUMMARY:

Teach undergraduate courses in economics including courses on principles of economics and upper-level courses, advise undergraduate students, and participate in departmental and university governance and service. This position will be in the Department of Economics and also serve the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Online Accelerated) through teaching online economics courses with an interdisciplinary focus connecting economics to other academic disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:


1. PhD in economics (ABD considered).

2. Areas of specialization are open with preference given to those with an interdisciplinary focus.

3. Evidence of excellence in teaching in person and online.

4. Ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

5. Proficiency in oral communication skills.

6. Proficiency in written communication skills.

PREFERRED:

1. Experience teaching across disciplines, linking economics to allied fields
