Department of Operations and Analytics

The Department of Operations and Analytics in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at the University of Texas at San Antonio consists of 15 tenure/tenure track and fixed-term-track faculty members and offers undergraduate degrees in business analytics, operations and supply chain management, and actuarial science, and a master's degree in business analytics. Our faculty and students have been recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally for excellence in both research and teaching.

Salary Range: Commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Position Summary

The Department of Operations and Analytics in the Carlos Alvarez College of Business at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer position in Operations and Supply Chain Management. Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in areas including Logistics Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, and related operations disciplines.

The department seeks individuals who can contribute to student learning through the integration of current industry practices, analytical decision-making approaches, and experiential learning methodologies. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality instruction and student success while supporting the department's mission of preparing graduates for careers in supply chain management, operations, and analytics.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Management Science, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated professional and/or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: logistics management, purchasing and procurement, supply chain management, operations management, business analytics, or operations research.
• Evidence of effective communication and the ability to teach audiences from various backgrounds.
• This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Management Science, or a related discipline.
• Significant industry experience in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, manufacturing operations, consulting, or related fields.
• Previous experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Experience incorporating technology, data analytics tools, simulations, or other experiential learning approaches into instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to connect theory and practice through applied industry examples and career-engaged learning.
