Job Description Summary:
The Rhetoric and Communication Studies Department (RCS) is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Forensics . This is a non-tenure track position. The program is seeking someone who can administer and coach the Speech & Debate Team and teach RCS classes every semester. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching and adjudicating competitive Forensics. They would additionally have experience with the World Universities Debating Championship (also referred to as WUCD or British Parliamentary) format.

The Director of Forensics is responsible for promoting the activity on campus while enhancing the team’s reputation nationally and internationally.

The Director of Forensics oversees selection of Performance Scholarship, manages the Speech and Debate Team Office, and organizes and accompanies all travel with the team regionally, nationally and internationally.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters in Human Communication Studies, Speech Communication, or a related field.
  • Coaching experience with National Forensic Association, American Forensics Association, or WUCD sanctioned intervarsity competitions.
  • Applied knowledge of LMS (e.g., Blackboard, D2L, Canvas, Moodle).
  • Must possess strong skills and pedagogical acumen in the virtual and face-to-face environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate level teaching experience in the field.

$73,144.28
Minimum: $70,304
