Job Summary

The Coordinator is responsible for the leadership, administrative management, evaluation and coordination of the Bridge Scholars Program, a first-year, coeducational living, learning community. Responsibilities include a high level of interaction with students, faculty and staff. Additionally, the Coordinator develops and supports initiatives to foster campus-wide student success.

Responsibilities

Program Management - 45%
- Direct and coordinate a 5-week comprehensive summer program for conditionally admitted students, as well as the continued coordination of the program for qualified students during the subsequent fall and spring semesters.
- Create summer academic schedules for Bridge Scholars.
- Oversee implementation of student programming which involves, introduces, and/or utilizes student resources, support, and services.
- In collaboration with Enrollment Management develop and support initiatives to foster campus-wide student success, including outreach and programming.
- Administer and maintain the Bridge Scholars Program budget.
- Plan and coordinate Orientation, Move-In, Honor Night, academic achievements, recognitions, and social programing for BSP.
- Provide training and development opportunities for the selected Peer Mentors throughout the calendar year.
- Supervise Peer Mentors, Graduate Assistant year-round. Supervise Community Advisors during the 5-week summer program, and assign various roles and responsibilities based on team's strengths and needs of the program

Promote & Recruit - 20%
- Prepare, review, edit printed and electronic promotional and informational items related to the Bridge Scholars Program (BSP), which includes program brochure, website, admissions forms, and documents.
- Manage perspective Bridge Scholars interview schedule rounds during the fall and spring semester and evaluate perspective student interviews for admission.
- Recruit, select, train, and supervise Peer Mentors, Community Advisors, and academic tutors who serve as ambassadors for the summer component of the (BSP) program.
- Recruit and select faculty to teach the 5-week summer courses curriculum for the Bridge Scholars.

Monitor - 15%
- Create and maintain accurate records and reports of various aspects of the (BSP) program ' ex: enrollment, participation, and discipline.
- Be available for individual consultation with students, especially those experiencing early warning signs of academic difficulty.
- Review student discipline/student judiciary cases involving (BSP) residents and determine whether involved student(s) is/are qualified to remain in the program.

Liaises - 15%
- Share oversight of student housing within the living learning community.
- Serve as a liaison between the BSP Program community and the University Housing Office.
- Serve as a liaison and advocate for students by identifying campus resources and services.

Other Duties - 5%
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Masters degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Student Personnel Services, College Student Affairs Administration, or similar field.

Required Experience
At least one year of experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proposed Salary

This position is a pay grade 8. The minimum salary is $47,476.00. Starting salary within this range is based on relevant years of experience.
