CE Track Faculty Position, GI Oncology/Pancreas Cancer Interception - Assistant Professor

The Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pancreatic cancer with research experience in pancreas cancer risk and interception. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching hematology/oncology fellows, medical residents and medical students.

Clinical responsibilities may include care of patients with pancreatic cancer in an outpatient setting and as an attending on the inpatient oncology service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP).

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include the ability of the selected candidate to develop and grow an independent research program in pancreatic cancer biology with a focus on methods to prevent or intercept the development of pancreatic cancer. The ideal candidate will have a highly translational program including both bench and human investigation. Evidence of experience using mouse models and other translational efforts are highly desirable. The selected candidate will be expected to produce high quality research which will lead to publications. Scholarship is required in the clinician educator track.
